LINGUIST. SCONNIE*. LOVER OF PUGS AND ELEPHANTS.Born and raised in Wisconsin. Exchange student to Kaltenkirchen, Schleswig-Holstein at 16. Lots of happy accidents led me to study German linguistics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I received my Ph.D. in 2017.
In 2019, I moved to Flensburg, Germany, working first as Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2019-2021), then as a postdoctoral researcher and research associate in the Institute for Frisian Studies and Minority Research at the Europa-Universität Flensburg. I have just started a German Research Foundation (DFG Eigene Stelle) funded project titled, "Visibilizing Normative Regional Historical Multilingualism (ViNoRHM): Ideology, Policy, and Practice". *Sconnie: (affectionate, informal) A person or people from Wisconsin. |
